Is the second pregnancy labor and delivery easier ?
I had a baby boy in May and I found out yesterday that I am pregnant again. When I had my baby boy I was pretty nervous. My water broke around 1011pm on a Sunday night and on Monday morning I had just dialated to 1 or so.
Well on Monday afternoon I went to the hospital and they induced me around 9pm. That was my choice as I didnt want to be induced earlier when I finally got to 56 centimeters. I was put on an epidural around midnight monday and by the time I was at 10 I had to begin hard labor which took nearly 3 hours.
One reason was that I wasnt pushing correctly and he was not in the correct position. I had to push him around something that he was already supposed to be in front of and he was apparently turned slightly. Anyway they said they turned the epidural off at around 4:30 am that tuesday but I was still having the effects of it around 6:10 am.
Anyway to get back to my question it was difficult having to push hard for so long and having the doctor constantly walk in and out and react like I wasnt as far as I should be. I was just wondering about everyone elses 2nd pregnancies and if they turned out better than the first. Also I wanted to know if anyone knows if medicaid will cover a second pregnancy so close to a first.

1. Medicaid will cover.
2. My second pregnancy was considerably better than the first especially since your are so close together you will be fine.
My first I pushed for like 25 minutes and he was born. The second I felt ready to push and kicked everyone out the room at 4:55 I pushed through one contraction and he was born at 5:00.
TIPS: If you walk during the whole pregnancy especially the last two weeks it helps the babys head get positioned correctly. I walked everyday for the last two weeks on my second one and thats probably why birth itself was so easy.
My second delivery was so much easier my first I didnt know what to expect and was paniking hypoerventilating and all was a nightmare With my second Though it felt more painful and was longer I was so much more relaxed and I knew exactly what was happening was normal and so it all went so much more smoothly though you do kick yourself for putting yourself in the position and wondering how you could possibly of forgotten the pain Still my second was a longer labour BUT easier and more relaxed as I knew all that was coming
As for aid I dont know we dont have that sort of thing in the UK we walk into a hospital and get treated no finances come into it
medicaid will cover you if your pregnant no matter what. Anyway as for the labor…your body has gone through it once so things might go a little smoother this time around I would sweat it too bad that was just one experience and maybe you should sign up for some labor and delivery classes medicais insurance usually covers this as well. Congrats
my first was 12 hours long epidural and my second was 4 and no time for it. with my second i thought it was false labor. i was still sitting at home at 245. if it wasnt for my mother in law i would have had him on the floor because he was born at 408 am. oh and second time no drugs at all and it was so much better than with drugs. also with epidural i guess since i didnt feel a thing i tore 10 times and this time i didnt even have anything…only 1 single little stitch not a million.
i felt like i could deal with the contractions more. i dont think they were as bad as the first time. i had back labor for both as well. but definetly secodn time way better experiance but hurt alittle more since i didnt have meds
Yes medicaid will cover. I would also question why you didnt go ahead and go to labor and delivery when your water broke. Considering thats the amniotic fluid that the baby has to have. Also I was induced and had my first baby with an epidural. It was ok but I still have back pain from the epidural and that was in 2005. I had my second baby naturally w/o pain medicine and it hurt so bad but not having an epidural was worth it. You dont have to wait to get up and go to the bathroom. You can eat sooner. Also there wasnt anything to further damage my back. I would think about getting a new OB if I were you just because they shouldnt act like that in the Delivery Room. Get one that you are more comfortable with.
