Im expecting in a couple of days and I am starting to freak out ?

I am so nervous because this is my first pregnancy. No not about the labor and delivery but taking that baby home and hoping I have a good setting for the baby. Anyone else feel this way before they had their baby?

I am so nervous cause I have a bassinet for the baby to sleep in and I hear they cant sleep in it for long and also I hear they can sleep on their stomachs and backs. So confused and nervous any advice will be helpful.

First of all..congrats..second of all you dont need to worry you will get it all figured out I would suggest though having your mother or someone there for at least the first week It was very helpful to me. You will trust me get the hang of it just after a week or 2 and then you will wonder why you worried so much. And..babies sleep on their backs…and they can sleep in the bassinet until they grow out of it.

    Congrats
No babies only sleep on their backs. Back in the day before SIDS was known about they put them on their stomachs. Not anymore.

Also youll figure it out as you go. Bassinet will work fine for now.
Look for cheap cribs and stuff online and at thrift stores if youre worried about money. I know how it is

If you didnt worry you wouldnt be a good parent.
    Youll be fine

Home temperature should be between 7278F
Always dress your baby one layer warmer than yourself.
Have it quiet and not too bright.
If you would like have your new baby sleep in a bassinet by your bed for the first few weeks.
Babies sleep on backs for the most part I hear with no blanketjust a warm sleeper and a snug hat No pillows and no stuffed animals.

All of your natural instincts will kick in. No baby is sent home with an instructions manual.
The baby will be fine in the bassinet for a couple months. You dont really want him rolln around or pullin up in it. But that gives you a little time to get a crib.
I suggest a swing…they are life savers. If for some reason your baby isnt a great sleeper those are safe ways to rock them and let them sleep next to the bed without having to stay up with him.

I realize it is overwhelming out there with so many gadgets and cool stuff and people telling you what you NEED.
But im telling you women have been having babies forever and not always with so much modern technology. Just be patient and loving and be inquisitive but not freaked out or crazy. Look to people you know and look up to. Dont take advice from people whom you dont know or understand their child raising techniques.
And above all….trust your instincts It may be your first baby but its what God intended for you.

    You will do well.
    Anymore questions just ask

    Good Luck and Congrats.

PS…i always washed all my babies clothes in Dreft baby detergent for a few months and sterilize all bottles and nipples before the baby comes.

calm down :o what your going through is classic nesting instinct trying to make everything perfect for your honey and its completely normal.

Remember the reason you stay in hospital is to learn things the nurses will help you with your baby and how to let him sleep and what you should do So dont worry :o

Congratulations and try to calm down and enjoy these last few days of freedom :o
